I had the honour of being Simone’s Makeup Artist including her 5 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls. Simone booked a trial session so that we could play with colours and find the perfect foundation and bridal look for her. She did not want heavy makeup or any intense colour on her eyes but preferred a classic natural look with just a pop of colour on her lips.
On her wedding day, I cleansed her face with Mi-cellar Cleaning Water to prepare the base. I used an intensive moisturiser on Simone to nourish her skin and alleviate any dryness before the foundation was applied.
While the cream absorbed, I started on her eyebrows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (ABH) combined with MAC Concealer to shape her brows. I finished them of with Benefits Brow Gel to keep the brows in place all day.
On her eyes, I used my good old trusty Naked Palettes, this is my go-to wedding palette as it has lovely pinks, natural and beautiful shimmery colours which are perfect for that classic bridal look. I also used Shu Uemura White Pencil in her waterline to open up her eyes. To complete Simone’s eyes, she chose natural looking lashes to enhance the look.
During her trial, Simone preferred full coverage and opted for a MAC Foundation. To achieve her desired coverage, I applied a little bit of colour correction using LA Girl Concealer around her eye and cheek area. To put the definition back into her beautiful face, I used ABH Cream Contour and set her contour with Sasha Buttercup Powder. I coloured her cheeks with MAC Blush and highlighted her cheekbones with ABH Glow Kit.
For her lips, I used Kiko Lip Base to keep her lipstick lasting pass the first kiss. I used MUA Lip Liner coupled with Simone’s chosen colour lipstick had purchased, finishing it off with my favourite Shu Uemura Lip Brush. To bring the skin back to life, I used both MAC and Kiko Fix Sprays to keep the makeup applied to her face.
It was an overall amazing experience to be part of Simone wedding, as there was a joyful atmosphere in the air and I truly love to be part of transforming women into beautiful brides. I wish Simone all the joy and happiness in her marriage and thank you for choosing me as your Bridal Makeup Artist.
